North Idaho Collaborating for Kids (NICK) is the inspiration of Safety Net Inland Northwest Co-founder Coleen Quisenberry.
Quisenberry’s vision for NICK is to develop a network of North Idaho nonprofits and agencies that serve at-risk youth and families who can refer them to the appropriate organization when seeking services.
“We are doing this because we serve many of the same at-risk youth and young adults in one way or another,” said Coleen. “We cast our net while others cast theirs. We are getting to know one another to stitch the nets together so that not one person falls through the cracks. That is our goal. We want to ensure we are not missing anyone needing help.”
The first official meeting of NICK took place on Monday, March 20, at Windermere Northwest in Coeur d’Alene, with 30 people in attendance. The group plans to meet every other month.
