When Ricky Lewis turned 18, he reached out to Safety Net Inland NW for the first time.
After being in and out of foster care from age 12, he was ready to be independent and tackle life head-on — with some friends’ help.
“I moved to Coeur d’Alene and was ready to move into my first apartment,” he says. “I heard about Safety Net through a social worker and reached out. They helped me with the deposit for my place.”
When 27-year-old Ricky was looking to move to southern Idaho, he realized he needed a reliable car to transport his life to his new city. So, he contacted Safety Net Inland NW again, remembering the kindness they had shown him years previously.
Safety Net contacted a Spokane car dealership and paid the initial down payment for a 2012 Chevy Traverse, setting him up for a safe trip to the Boise area.
“Safety Net, it’s so cliché, but they feel like family. Whenever I’ve reached out, they’ve always been so welcoming — nothing but hugs and smiles. It empowers young adults and others to receive that kind of care,” said Ricky.
Thanks again to Cliff’s Quality Auto for your support of Safety Net Inland NW! Ricky’s smile says it all! ❤️❤️❤️
